“ 29Aug24, Thurs - The MSW seed-in durian Chendol RM17 here is the Malaysia equivalent of 99 Old Trees' MSW seed-in durian Chendul (SGD13.90 in Oct 2023). The latter is easier to get to as just 2mins walk away from Outram Park mrt exit in Singapore, while I wish this Siong Huat one is more accessible! Durians were fresh and satisfying, and this MSW (Mao Shan Wang durian) dessert is a nice end to the herbal bak kut teh meal. We were actually too stuffed already from breakfast, having disembarked from a cruise ship to do a day's exploration in the area. Otherwise the food would probably taste even better. Don't have the prices of the other items as someone else in our group treated. ”
“ If you're looking for a tasty but less herbal BKT, this is certainly the place to enjoy a delicious meal. Apart from the mainstream mixed (samkachan, pai kut,...) soup, do try the dry pork trotters... so yummy. Fast & friendly service, foc soup refills, easy park along & by the side of the restaurant, ample tables, high ceiling & well ventilated, many water stations, clean toilets. ”
“ Arriving in late afternoon around 2pm, menu was limited, simple but food were nice. The worker or maybe boss was friendly. Ordered soup bkt, steam fish, steam lala and a vege with 3 rice and 4 drinks total damage RM167. Lala and fish quite nice. Vege just so so, taste a bit plain. Bkt taste very good but the lean meat was too big in size and the texture too hard to chew. ”
“ Their Bak Kut Teh is slightly different from the ones we know as peppery Teochew and herbal Hokkien styles. It even has pork knuckle in it, with a tinge of herbal taste and thick sticky gravy from the fats. The leftover gravy can practically be used to cook 炒猪脚米粉. Chinese Red Wine Chicken 红酒鸡 tastes much more like Sesame Oil Chicken 麻油鸡 that I'm familiar with. While it's nice, it's not wow to me. Durian Chendol is the highlight of all dishes, this is really damn good, perfect!! ”
“ Food Taste is average. The price is reasonable. The Bak Kut Tea taste is different so don't compare it with Kuala Lumpur (Higher Aroma Herb). Five dishes cost RM115.00 With Chinese Tea. Plenty of parking available. Bak Kwa or Chinese Jerky stall is delicious. Recommended. It is priced at RM46.00 Per 500gram for pork which is non halal. (Chicken is RM58.00) Bulk orders above 30pack will be discounted RM10.00 Per pack. Overall the Bak Kut Tea stall is acceptable. ”
